Minnesota Tech Training Pilot Program Grant

Minnesota Tech Training Pilot Program Grant

The I.T. Center has received a $300,000 grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development for the building of the Minnesota Tech Training Pilot Program (TTP).

The TTP Program will train young BIPOC adults ages 18 to 30 in much needed technology career pathways with a final goal of permanent family-sustaining wage employment.

Through collaboration with partners, approximately 100 students will receive career navigation, training, and support services through a hybrid delivery model. The model includes skilled IT training at multiple levels, from entry level Microsoft Office Specialist training to advanced training resulting in industry recognized credentials such as CCNA, CompTIA Fundamentals and/or CompTIA Network+. In addition, participants will also access internships and direct job placement through a variety of business partners.

Partners in the TTP include BrookLynk, City of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota Teamster Service Bureau, Rochester Community and Technical College, Workforce Development , Red Wing Ignite, Independent School District 622, American Indian OIC, Takoda, MN Tech Association, Minnesota Job Partners, Metropolitan State University, and industry partners.
