New Directions in IT Education is the annual Minnesota State Faculty Conference that provides an opportunity for educators and industry leaders to interact with their peers and influence the direction of education. This year’s conference will be held May 15-17, 2019 at North Hennepin Community and Technical College in Brooklyn Park, MN.
On Friday March 1, thirteen faculty from across the state braved snowy skies and roads to gather for lunch during the annual SIGCSE Technical Symposium in Minneapolis, to learn about the new D2L Career Readiness Modules being offered by ITCOE. Wilson Garland, Janice Aanenson and Chad Eckes from ITCOE provided information and took questions about the Modules, as well as discussed the needs for improved Career Readiness curriculum options for faculty to offer in their classes.
In line with the Minnesota State IT Center of Excellence mission, we are excited to introduce new career readiness curriculum for IT and CS faculty to use in their courses. We are also excited to introduce Chad Eckes, a new consultant at the COE, who has helped us develop the new D2L Modules, and will be assisting with their launch. Read this article to learn more about the new Modules, our pilots happening this spring, and the broader rollout being planned for Fall 2019.
