Apply For Building Bridges Between Academia & Industry Grant!

Are you an information technology faculty member at a Minnesota State college or university? Do you have an innovative idea on how to advance and implement technology based curriculum at your institution? If so, Advance IT Minnesota would like to hear your big idea at the 2017 New Directions in IT: Building Bridges between Academia & Industry conference on May 17th – 19th, 2017.

At this year’s New Directions in IT conference them is focused on Building Bridges Between Academia & Industry. We are calling upon Faculty to convene and collaborate with tech industry leaders to develop ideas, strategies and approaches to advance and implement information technology curriculums at rural Minnesota colleges and Universities.

Industry Partners such as Xcel Energy, HealthPartners, Mayo Clinic, Medtronic, Target, St. Jude Medical, Fastenal and Wenonah Canoes and others will be available for faculty to tap and/or collaborate with at the conference.

Submission Criteria

You (the faculty) MUST collaborate with each other and at least one tech industry leader in the development and submission of your big idea. Attend and pitch your proposal together on Friday, May 19th at the 2017 New Directions in IT: Building Bridges Between Academia & Industry conference to be eligible to obtain funding, resources and sponsorship from Advance IT MN. Proposals must align with the following conference discussion themes:

Shared Infrastructure

Resource Development

Curriculum Development

PLA/CBE Development

Faculty Development

There are two ways to submit your project proposals and gain funding

Option 1: Submit Online

Submit your ideas online by May 12th, 2017.

Option 2: Email your Proposal

Attendees can leverage pre-conference industry lectures and general conference panel discussions as an opportunity to synergize and develop award winning ideas that bridges academia and the tech industry.
