The numbers are in: More and more, Minnesota’s young women have ‘Aspirations’ in Computing

With the 2015-2016 awards application period ending Nov. 4, the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) has released the final application numbers for fourth annual Aspirations for Women in Computing Awards.

State of Minnesota Numbers

Final Application Submissions =  96
(113% increase from last year)

National Numbers

Final Application Submissions = 3,133
(26% increase from last year)

The Minnesota Aspirations in Computing Awards Program partners with NCWIT to offer Minnesota high school girls the opportunity to be recognized and supported for their budding interests and aspirations in technology.

Next Steps: Reviewers needed!

We’re looking for qualified partners and colleagues to become official reviewers and review a few of the many applications submitted. The review period is now through December 7,  is easy, time-friendly and flexible.

Reviewing applications is rewarding and helps people learn about what high school women are passionate about in the world of technology. Industry professionals, academics and retired high school personnel are needed to complete 13,000 reviews.
